Eva, of boarding pass always surprises me but this time the word surprise falls short. The other day asked me to make a recipe for Halloween, some gnocchi, something that the children could participate and then eat. This is the spectacular result. I felt myself as a super lovely girl in a fairy tale, nothing scary indeed, quite the contrary. Thank you, Eva.
At home we like to keep the traditions but do not close the doors to new ideas and more when it comes to the kids have fun. Adam loves Halloween, where we live it is common for children of neighbors go trick or treating and that excites you, this is the first year that you will ask them to leave him rather than stay home and give out candy to all the monsters visit us that night.
For the pumpkins:
350 gr pumpkin
350 grams of sweet potato
350 g flour (half full)
50g grated parmesan
Pinch of salt
To puree crocodile:
1/2 package frozen peas (we are not in season)
1 clove of garlic, olive oil and pine nuts
We roast in the oven pumpkin and sweet potatoes (or sweet potatoes) chopped for 1 hour at 180 ⁰, we uncovered the pumpkin for sweet potato moisture loss but we cover with foil during cooking. Grind in a blender and we add the beaten egg and flour gradually admitting that go. Finally we season and we add the cheese. Let stand ½ hour and begin to form our halloween pumpkins, take portions, we give round shape and with the aid of sticks we model checking the pumpkin shape, eyes and mouth. We put them in a pan of boiling water, once they float them out and serve over mashed crocodile, a few peas to boil it for 5 minutes, drain them and went through cold water to retain color, put them in the blender along with a clove of garlic, a splash of olive oil and a handful of pine nuts, we beat and ready.
If you prefer you can roast gnocchi, drizzled with a little oil and cook for 5 minutes at 180 ⁰. I've prepared both ways. Are lighter boiling them in water. To prepare pumpkin gnocchi these I used more flour than usual, needed to manipulate them easily, with 200 gr. flour is enough, though, instead of using your hands you will have to shape them with two spoons.
