Halloween gnocchi, Boarding Card

Eva, boarding pass always surprises me but this time the word surprise falls short. The other day I set out to make a recipe for Halloween, some gnocchi, something that the children could participate and then eat. This is the spectacular result. I felt myself like a child in a fairy tale, nothing scary indeed, quite the contrary, super charming. Thank you, Eva.

At home we like to preserve traditions but do not close the doors to new ideas and more when it comes to the kids have fun. To Adam loves Halloween, where we live it is common for neighbors children go trick or treating and that excites you, this is the first year I will order them out to him instead of staying home and give candy to all the monsters that night we visited.

Ingredients:

For the pumpkins:

350 gr pumpkin

350 g of sweet potato

350 g flour (half whole wheat)

1 egg

50g grated parmesan

Pinch of salt

For the mashed crocodile:

1/2 package frozen peas (we're not in season)

1 clove of garlic, olive oil and pine nuts

Preparation:

We roast in the oven pumpkin and sweet potatoes (or sweet potatoes) chopped for 1 hour at 180 ⁰, pumpkin left uncovered so that the moisture loss but we cover sweet potatoes with foil during cooking. Grind in a blender and we add the beaten egg and flour gradually going admitting. Finally season it and add the cheese. Let stand ½ hour and begin to form our halloween pumpkins, take portions, we round and with the aid of sticks we model checking the pumpkin shape, eyes and mouth. We put them in a pan of boiling water, once they float them out and serve them on a crocodile puree to boil it a few peas for 5 minutes, drain them and went through cold water to retain color, put them in the blender along with a clove of garlic, a splash of olive oil and a handful of pine nuts, beat and ready.

If you prefer you can roast the gnocchi, drizzled with a little oil and cook for 5 minutes at 180 ⁰. I will have prepared both ways. Are lighter boiling them in water. To prepare these pumpkin gnocchi I used more flour than usual, needed to manipulate them easily, with 200 gr. of flour is enough, though, instead of using your hands have to shape them with two spoons.
